Riccardo Sottil was born on 3 June 1999 in Torino, and he is the son of former footballer and coach Andrea; football runs in the family and at a very young age Riccardo travelled around Italy following his father's footsteps. He was part of Genoa, Torino and Fiorentina's academies. It was with the Viola that he climbed the ranks where he joined the Primavera before playing in Serie A in which he has now got 123 appearances, eight goals and eleven assists. His Serie A debut came in September 2018 at 19-years-old. In January 2019 he went on loan to Pescara in Serie B where he scored his first professional goal. The following season he went back to Fiorentina before heading back out on loan in September 2020, this time to Cagliari where he found regular game time, playing 21 games and scoring two goals. At the end of the season, Fiorentina called him back once again, but this time, they needed him. From 2021, to January 2025, Sottil has played regularly in Serie A and in the Conference League, reaching 100 appearances for the Viola in February 2024.
